- Drop off last year's sweaters and jackets your children have outgrown to Goodwill/Salvation Army
- Fill a bag and donate nonperishables for a Holiday Dinner (mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, etc.)
- Volunteer your time to your child's school
- Write and send holiday cards for a senior citizen in your community
- Donate books to your public library
- Give blood
- Purchase a gift for a child in need (visit your local church for gender, ages, and specific needs)
- Collect socks for a homeless shelter
- Walk or Run for a cause
- Hold a garage or yard sale and donate the earnings to a charity of your choice
- Bring some treats to your neighborhood police/fire department
- Take an assortment of puzzles and games (checkers, Connect Four, and Uno) to your local after school care facility
- Adopt a soldier
